This question is the result of wishful thinking on my part... but i was wondering:

Comments applying to the Winter 2005 session :

UNIVERSITY OF OTTAWA ADMISSION SCHOLARSHIP

Does that mean that i received the admission scholarship during the Winter 2005, OR that my marks during Winter 2005 resulted in the renewal of the scholarship for next semester? I highly suspect that it's the former more than the latter, but wondering if anyone else could clarify.

That's included in the Grade Report, btw.

It just means that for the Winter 2005 session, you received the admission scholarship.

to renew your scholarship, you need to maintain a 8.5

If by last year you mean first year, then ya, a bit over 8.5 *cough* 8.8 *cough* ;) ... 2nd year however, it dropped about 10 points. :/

8.5 is a ridiculous expectation

i'd say right next to impossible

I'm pretty sure it means you've received the average necessary to renew the scholarship, but it's easy to double check: scroll up and look at your CGPA; if it is 8.5 or higher, then YOU WIN!!!!!

hehe, well that's the thing... past semesters i assumed it meant i was getting it again, but this semester my cpga is a bit lower than 8.5, but i still got a bit hopeful when i saw that written there.

Check your Stateemnt of Account on Infoweb, if nothing else. I already have an indication that I have received the Admissions scholarship for fourth year, so if you're getting it, chances are it'll already be on there.

Generally speaking, though, your CGPA has to be 8.5 or above in order to qualify.
